Directed by “Pitof” and lambasted hysterically upon release, Catwoman has become shorthand for career disaster.  Halle Berry’s career took as quick a nosedive after this stinker as it took up upshot from her winning the Oscar the only a couple years prior for Monster’s Ball (2001).  Her agent must have been high on catnip.

Hey, it’s bad.  It really is.  Sharon Stone is the villainess who is selling make-up that is a mixture of crack cocaine and botox, which disfigures women if they try to get off of it.  There is some Beauty Myth thing intended here, but it’s too ludicrous to bother with.  Worst of all, it’s boring.

Berry vamps embarrassingly throughout and is even worse playing the winsome, mousy Patience Phillips.  This film could have almost brought the comic book genre to its knees.

It brought my little super hero film festival to an end, thankfully.  Curiosity kills the cat.
