All-Time Favorite Films
I often avoid any list of favorite movies. For one thing, my opinions change over time. I’m pretty sure that for a long time as a kid, Godzilla (1955) was my favorite movie. Then Star Wars (1977), of course. Later in life, maybe the list included things like Jean Cocteau’s Beauty and the Beast (1946), Lasse Hallström’s My Life as a Dog (1985), and Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas (1984).
And then, there are a couple that make my current list that I haven’t even seen recently enough to know if they would still merit it.
But anyhoo, here it is, such as it is. My list of all-time favorite films. In no order.
Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away (2001)
Henry Selick’s Coraline (2009)
Martha Coolidge’s Valley Girl (1983)
Sergio Leone’s The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966)
